Hasaranga and Chameera misses out as Sri Lanka announces 15 men World Cup Squad, Hasaranga who misses the Asia Cup event due to his injury now failed to make it to the 15 Men world cup squad.
He was in rehabilitation and was recovering himself well but unfortunately re-injured himself during a practice session, while Dushmantha Chameera also misses out the squad due to his injury.
This could be a big blow for Sri Lanka as Hasaranga has good experience of playing in India, he was part IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore and he performed very well with both the Ball and The Bat in hand. He could be very lethal down the order with bat also he can play up the order, he was the Top Scorer and most Wicket taker in the last Sri Lanka Premier League .
However the good news is Wanindu Hasaranga wil be travelling with the team to India as the media release by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) stated that “Hasaranga’s recovery will be closely monitored. If he becomes available during the course of the World Cup and a cricketer in main squad gets injured, Hasaranga will be considered as a replacement”.
